And although the case is cold, it's still active. That's why the Norwalk Police Department, along with the State of Connecticut is offering a $50,000 reward for information to solve the double homicide.
On Aug. 6, 2011, Rickita Smalls, 22, and Iroquois Alston, 27, both of Bridgeport, were found dead in a small dark car awkwardly parked on Avenue B, said the Norwalk police.
Residents of the neighborhood called the police that morning, which was a Saturday, to report the grisly discovery.
Smalls, a 2007 graduate of Bassick High School worked in the bakery at Stop & Shop in Westport, and Alston, 27, who had attended Westhill High School in Stamford, were dating at the time, according to family members at the time of the murder.
The Norwalk Police Detective Bureau, who have remained tight-lipped on the details of the crime, is renewing the call for help from the public as the anniversary of the cold-case crime approaches.
The State of Connecticut is offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for their murders.
